| Maybe if I torque roll a piper cub to the ground that may bridge the animosity. I can bring down a classic trainer, and a citabria but a cub ive not tried. Actually another old mans plane a tiger moth would be hard probably frigen impossible. Last edited by 3W.; 01-15-2006 at 10:17 PM. |

Nice one TD! Hey I find the roller easeier when rolling left as well. Obviously I am not as good as you Tony, but I am getting there. The model feels like its 'floating' more than if I roll to the right.

Yer you roll away from the turn always too but rolling into the turn in a tight circle looks amazing. Its good to learn both ways to do harrier eights, but for a rolling harrier loop which im trying to master u need all the pitch up you can get so left is definately the go. PS never underestimate practice time with ur shocky doing this stuff for the big stuff. |

| Not all pattern flying was boring for me. Unfortunately boring old discipline is one of the best ways to learn how to fly properly, but some try to hide behind discipline as an excuse. Being an all rounder that’s all I want. RIP Torque Roll Whore in photo below, died about this time 2003 just flying strait and level (Stalled it). You served me well not as a pattern model but as the best Torque trainer/swimming pool dunker ive ever had. Last edited by 3W.; 01-15-2006 at 11:05 PM. |

| It was like a box of chocolates when i dunked her in the water cause u would loose control of back end, she only had small pattern surfaces which never could get me outta trouble, so i didn't wanna do that next to Gravzeys house, I mitta ended up in his living room. The ailerons never did anything as well so she span as fast as she wanted too. |

Hey TD, I've got the rolling harriers right down low but I'm the same as you, I way prefer rolling to the left. I need to do some more practice rolling to the right cause they look scrapy as anything. I find it way more stable rolling to the left as it begind to bog (lack of better words) down to the right. BTW still can't get over how you got that pattern plane to TR but thats awesome!!

| heeey cool your a lefty like me. My rightys are looking a bit like im triping over an electrical extention cord every roll but im working on it. Ive seen some good right rollers but its questionable if you could really call em a harrier with the nose still not pitching up that much. Yer the old Torque Roll Whore that all she wanted to do was torque roll (Fast sometimes no aileron control) Its funny I never learnt to hover well holding in right aileron, Im more comfortable spinning due to that plane, im aileron dead most of the time being busy with the back end. lol! I think having the CG right the way back and having a faster roll rate would help alot but i haven't gotten around to trying it (trying my hardest on these 06 IMAC sequences). I've also seen some really good rignt hand harriers but from what i've seen in videos most people prefer rolling to the left.

Trim ur plane for the sequences far more important, soft and precise. They still will fly good 3D with rate options. No point doing good freestyle for the cows at you home paddock. To get an invite to do any good freestyle shows in the world you need a good IMAC ranking from ASAA result references.

| Hah, now I wander why I can't get them to look smooth enough. That's my favorite direction- to the right. I can do them to the left but it looks crapier. Need more practice. But it's interesting I found that no matter which way I roll, once they lock in they look nice. Just can't get it like that all the time. Must be the right rythm. I also want to slow them down but I want to use pitch control (throttle) to do that rather than putting less aileron input. I watched Chris and he does them nice and slow. |
