There is no way known I would be at the comp over that period of the year.
Guys we can talk about this till the cows come home but we will not change a thing, In Aust as in the USA the event called the nationals are run by the governing body in that country and in our case it is being run over the exmas break as it has been for about 20 yrs .
We can have as many big events as we like but they will not be the AUST Nationals, We do have some very speciual events but how do we define what is the bigest, Entry numbers; prizes given out; sponsorship; etc ?? we curently have 4 so called major events with each one just as inportant as the other but no matter what we do none of the will be the Aust Nats; I am a little surprized at our Sec comments as he knows it is only a demo event this year and is only for our benafit to SHOWCASE WHAT WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO and the only thing we can get out of it is posatives so lets not waste our time trying to change what cant be changed and work out how we can best surport it for OUR BENNAFIT.
I am not a Nationals pusher but i cant see any point in trying to boycott or change what we can not change , If you wanna go then go if dont then dont its up to each indervidual,

I think that if the Nationals give us the oppurtunity to promote our SIG then that is only a good thing. And thats how we should be considering the nats, as an oppurtunity to promote ASAA.

We have our own ranking system in the ASAA, everyone knows that the guy who comes out on top in Unlimited for a whole season can be considered the current Scale Aeros Aussie champ for the year. If some other guy comes out on top at the nats, then good on him. It's not like there is a sheep station up for grabs.

I dont see how the MAAA can hold power over the ASAA in regards to how we run our comps and structure our points system.

Frankly I dont see what all the fuss is about..... the nats in New Zealand are on over the new years break as well as far as I have heard. Frazer said that its an awesome week of flying. He even competes in Q500 racing (or similar class.)
In the end its a fun event to go to if your able. If you cant then what does it matter?

Wass. My comments were only my personal views on the issue. yes I am aware that it is only a demo this year but will not be for the years to come. Nobody is saying to boycot the event that is comming out of your own mind. All we as MEMBERS are saying that the timing does not suit us. For most of us family will always come first and that time of year is family time. especially since they have put up with us being away at comps for a lot of weekends and all the other weekends out practising. As for me being the SEC, yes I am but I am still entitled to an opinion. If you can get enough pilots together in the comming years over that period of the year to hold a comp and crown a National Champion then good on ya. But I personally(not the view of ASAA) would not support it. To be given the titled of National Champion should be earned not just handed to you because you beat one or two other competitors in a poorly supported class.
Benny I agree that it would be good to promote ASAA at the Nats, but unfortunately the winner would still be a National Champion in the eyes of our governing body after this year. i hope we can get a good group of pilots together this year to show what ASAA is all about, I just know I wont be one of them.

Lookin good Richo

The plane not you...

I heard a rumour your going to Tuscon. I am going to missouri to see a C & W concert and then driving back through all the hick towns to Tuscon over 3-4 days. Will be in Tuscon about the 25th or 26th October. Will then fly back to San Fran and spend some time there.

Who's going to Tuscon????????

www.xtremecomposite.com.au is now up but has a few gaps which I am filling in over the next couple of weeks. Is changing as we type.
