I tend to do my shopping about 50% online, 50% in the hobby shop. I think the main thing that determines your spending habbits, online and offline is how many hobby stores you have near to where you live and how good their range is. Everyone else will probably have the same problem I have. Most of the hobby stores are geared up for the smaller end of the hobby and when you do ask the store to order something in for you, you end up waiting forever and a day until it arrives. The beuty of ordering online I suppose is that you have a WHOLE WORLD of choice and all you have to do is push a few buttons and a few days later, it's on your door step. The 50% of purchasing that I do at the local hobby stores tends to be for the regular things like small Dubro products, screws and all those other bits and pieces. When it comes to the big kind of purchases like aircraft, electronics and engines etc... Online has seemed to be the most effective way for me, not only for conveniece, but for competative prices to. Now that I've finished my extract from War and Peace, hope this has helped. |

I use mostly Money orders and have my stuff sent to work. We all know why...Charge very little and the little things I need comes from the local hobby shops. Used Pay Pal once and It hasn't been right since.

I havent purchased anything R/C online. (Ebay not included) The simple reason is i don't want our local hobby shop to close!!! I'm not knocking online stores in any way, BUT as our hobby is small compared to may others eg Moto xross or horsey stuff i think we do need to look after the smaller hobby shop owners or else they may become extinct. & I do like to be able to walk into our local hobby shop & purchase some Zap or lipo"s or anything else i might need. I find i do pay more than the online stores for the small stuff but they do their best to match on the bigger ticket items if you give them a figure to work to. Just my 2cents. |

Aussie and Shop at Aussie online shops first. Have one favourite helicopter site that is in Taiwan and one electric site in Hong Kong, one also in the US. I prefer payment by PayPal. Almost forgot. If we had a decent hobby shop I would buy more from the shop. When we go to Brissie I usualy spend a hole day visiting hobby shops. |
