I try to support the LHS. It is hard as they tend to stock basic items and entry electrics for the most part. There is one shop about 1.5 hour drive from me that I can walk into and buy Fromeco, Truturn, Mejzlik and even DA at times. It is VERY cool to have a shop of this caliber to support. I can call ahead to see if they have what I need. Other than that, I shop on line. It has become very difficult for the LHS to justify stocking the "good stuff" when they rarely get those sales. You HAVE to turn inventory to make any money. As a rule of thumb it takes four turns a year for an sku to remain viable. If we do not support them, they die. I like to be able to run into the shop on a Saturday afternoon to save a weekend of flying.

90% online, 10% LHS. Preferably PayPAl. There is only one hobby shop in my area that carries good inventory or can get it. The only drawback is the 40 min. drive one way.

No LHS in my town, so I use the internet as much as possible. The LHS where I work sells me the stuff at the same price as the internet, but he too has to order it since his shop is set up with the sportflyer stuff (ie; 40-60 arfs, entry level electric, etc.), so I just order online |

Shopping online is the only way to avoid california sales tax, and get the best price on airplane goodies. It's the only way!

I find what I want, then the LHS will knock it down so I can get close to the oonline price and keep his doors open. You gotta support the LHS. Unfortunately , we have 3 good ones here in Chicagoland now, and spreading between them , to keep old friends , is becoming difficult, and they are all hurting. I split my purchases pretty evenly between them, but it is getting harder to do. |

Nearly all my plane stuff, apart from the kits I order online from the USA. It's cheaper (believe it or not) quicker, delivered to my doorstep and ofcoarse they have just about everything you would ever want. Now If hobby stores here could match that I may consider spending my moola here in Oz. But If you Into the heli scene Perth RC Is up there with the best in the world In every respect. The few online stores here frankly really suck, difficult to navigate, postage Is hopeless (aussie post!) If you aim for online shopping sites like Horizon Hobbies or Tower Hobbies In as far as how they have built the I believe you will be on a sure winner.

I try to support the LHS but the closest decent hobby store is 1.5 hours away. I will go if i need it right away, other wise I order on line.
