Hey all, it was a great week at the Shootout. Biff and Mad Max made the Giants proud. I didn't catch the afterhours fun, but all reports were that it was exceptional. The flying was outstanding in all classes, and the event was run like a precision Rolex. For all the flying, there were only a few accidents. A mid-air on Tuesday practice, but the competitors were both able to land their planes. One crash during the first round due to unknown radio issues. Chip Hyde bent a wing on his large scale Ultimate Biplane (DA-200 powered), but was able to rig flying wires and finished the contest. Mark Leseberg auguered in his new Dalton Extra during the first round of freestyle, but finished the precision contest in First. What did he fly on Sunday? (I had to fly out Saturday night.) What an event!! Now I know how far us mortals have to go. A few years of constant practice, and most of us might show up for a few rounds of Sportsman. QQ's freestyle was inspiring on Saturday with a wonderful mix of music and maneuvers. I'm back at Tuscon next year...... Docvan |

Mark flew another dalton 300 today but with a 150 and 3blade prop. It was quiet. When he crashed my heary sunk. I knew when he entered those rolls he would be to low. Btw the plane sounded AWSOME!!! I dont understand why shulman placed 10 in freestyle???? He flew the 50% awsomely this morning!
