Default Aerotech's Tucson Shootout experience

Hello,

Well we got in at lunch time last thursday. When I arrived I found that we had a 20ftx20ft tent ready for us. Brian Hueffmeier from Desert Aircraft had all the items we shipped ready for us to start setting the items up for the 40% Sukhoi SU26MX raffle plane.

Once setup we did alot hand shaking with folks. We then payed our necessary dues to Dave Johnson, Mark M. CD of the event our customers, pilots and the Flying Giants Max and Bif to let them know we were here, give me some stickers for the table and we will see you at dinner.

During the course of 4 days we were flooded at different times during the day with folks buying raffle tickets, talking about the plane, all the co-sponsors items and just generally loving being there. It always is great to put a face to many people we speak to on the phone and emails. It feels like I have made 100 new friends while we were there.

To summerize the trip. The contest was awesome. The field of talent was as good as it gets. I watched Ryan Archer in sportsman just dominate his class. He is a great kid and very polite. After meeting his dad I can see why Ryan is the little gentleman he is. Philip Oubre was up on the 3rd spot and also a great friend that helped up out at the booth.

Intermediate saw Eric Powel come up and show the guys he was a little down but Im comming and he did. Eric and his dad have become good friends over the years. Congrads!. Jeremy Holt finished 3rd. Jeremy is another example of great person. Him and his dad helped out alot in the booth also. Tony Russo my brother finished 5th.

Advance Saw Dean Bird in 1st. Dean came by the booth to say hello and support the raffle. My man Ryan G picked up 3rd with his Extra 300. Congrads!!

Unlimited saw Wayne Geffon take it. Man he is the nicest guy and I was lovin it when he won. Excellent Wayne!!

Invitational saw Mark Leesberg win by 5 points over QQ. If you want to set standards for flying. Look no futher. I think Mark is a great person to boot. But He needs to help my golf game next time hes in town. QQ well I don't have to say much about him that has not already been said. First Class person and thats all I need to say.

Lastly I want to thank Mike Milos for flying down from Canada to help me work the booth. Mike is a great friend and supporter on IMAC.Thanks Mike!! All the sponsors that made the raffle plane possible. All the folks at the field keeping things flowing. Monster Energy Drink for the unlimited supply of drinks. Were thinking about 2007's plane already and all the sponsors are returning with a few more. Take care and we will see you in 2007.

A truly great experience going to the TAS for two yrs straight and watching my son Eric Powell win also 2 yrs straight. Next best experience was meeting John Sharpless of AERO TECH models in person. What an extra special guy. No wonder he is putting out some of the very best models on the market. A truly intelligent guy with some awesome knowledge who cares about customer satisfaction. My hat's off to you John. Thanks for being there. Thanks for other sponsors, and a special thank you to Desert Aircraft and BIG Brian H. A new Motor and all acc IN ONE HOUR!!
Great job by all the volunteers, Judges, Anna Wood, Mike Cummings and staff.
Hope to see all again next year. I'm just happier than a pig in $hit!! Tom Powell

Hello,

Thanks again guys. The entire process from plane to shipping is a big effort from the guys in the shop who do alot of this for the love of the sport and all the co-sponsors that make it complete. Next year will be off the hook with something new.
