Default DA 50 question

I have had this DA 50 for about 3 years and it has been through many crashes. It has been sent back to DA about 4 times now to get fixed and it was updated with the new carb and rod. Now that the warrenty has run out I am wondering if I should keep sending it in to DA when it needs fixing. Right now I have a broken the ear off the case and am thinking about just ordering the part to fix it. I was wondering if anybody else works on there own stuff or does everybody just keep sending it back to DA.

I had this issue on a head I broke from a motor box breaking off in flight... I sent it to them and took 100% blame and offered my credid card. I got a bill for the head and a gasket, as well as shipping... no labor! I thought that was very fair considering they logged the work, so if I had to send it back in for whatever, they would know whats been done and by who.... send it in..

I fix small things myself but they have such awesome service if its something you are not comfortable with just send it back.

I have broken down motors before all the way and rebuilt them. However, some people are not as cool about taking apart their toys.

DA will take care of it, and check to see if you tweaked it when you busted the ear off. It is worth the piece of mind, they are the best. I have three 50's one with a VERY low serial number and they still take care of it.

Its up to you. Im a mechanic and comfortable with tearing mine down and fixing but with the great service of DA just send it in. I sent my fifty in after a crash that broke the cylinder bolts off, bent the crank, broke the cylinder and bent the rod. It was trashed and they fixed it at no cost to me and did whatever upgrades to it and now it runs better than it ever has.
