Help! Minimum Battery voltage to run DA-50?

I was at the field today and made a few flawless flights on my Ultimate with DA-50. Then after the second flight I mistakingly left the ING battery on for about 20-30 minutes or so before attmepting the next flight. I checked the battery and it read 4.9 volts with a 500ma load. Battery is a 4.8 volt 1800 mah NIMH. Anyhow thinking the battery is fine I proceed to start the engine. It started normally and ran OK for 15-20 seconds then started to act erractic, not responsive to throttle inputs and then died. I restarted and had the same thing happen. On the third restart it ran much better throttle good, full throttle run for about 10 seconds OK, good idle so I think maybe it was just needed to be cleared out a little. Still running fine I sart to taxi out and it dies again. So at this time I figure the gods are telling I have an issue and to pack up and go home. So I did.
Question is, If a 4.8 volt pack can hold 4.9 volts for about 10 seconds with a .5 amp load is it good to fly? What does the DA Ignition module require to keep the engine running (voltgage wise)?
I'm cycling the pack right now to determine if it's good and will try to run it in the backyard tomorrow. If it runs fine without any other adjustments to the plane I'll have to fault the pack.
Thanks,

I had a Duralite regulator I used in a helicopter of mine that is a fixed 5.1v and I put it on my almost 4 year old DA 50 from the first time I ran it. Never missed a lick.

I run a 2-cell lithium ion pack that is 2400mah. The regulator like I said is 5.1v. Anywhere from like 4.9v-around 6V works fine. One is no more advantageous than another. Dave Johnson said just use it anywhere in that range. It does not matter.

Here's what the DA-50R instructions say..

Use 4.8 or 6 volt batteries only. Higher voltage will damage the ignition system and will void the warranty. We recommend a 900 mAh or larger pack. With this size pack, the ignition pack should last longer than your receiver pack will. If the meter shows 5.0 volts or less, don't fly. Re-charge. Use a 5.2 to 6 volt regulator on packs rated above 6 volts.
