26x12 is great, very quiet, great pull and more speed if you want it. I have one on my Comp-Arf Extra 260. I like it better than 27x10 or 28x10.

I do like the 27x10 better on my Python (with cans) for some reason even though it is less pull it just feels more solid.

I used to have pipes on my Python (went back to can to reduce noise) - the pipes (MTW) had massive power and would easily turn the 25x12x3 and 28x10 PT. Even the 25x12x3 would rip. That 26x10x3 sounds interesting for a piped setup - I'd put the pipes back in if I could get the noise back down.

well ok after reading this thread i called DA spoke with jeff about my setup

TT TOC 35% 260 extra about 27 lbs
Da 100 on stock mufflers its a used motor with about 5 gals on it running redline oil 40/1 tach's out on the ground at 6450 with a 27x10th after a few flights with it over the last couple of weekends the motor just sounds maxed out or is it just me.

when i talked with jeff he felt that i might need to richen it up some i will try that this weekend i dont think the motor ever fads in in the vid but it just sound on the edge and the down line are fast as hell at idle i hope the 28x10 will give me some better braking here is the vid to see the 27x10th in action not alot of low and slow i like being up top and flying big still feeling out the plane Dino.

Dino, I see you are useing the new name for the brand of plane, is that a new color scheme or one you did yourself.

My DA-100 turns like that with a 28 X 10 Mejzlik or a 28 X 10 Xoar Sword. I flying the SD 35% Yak at 29 lbs. so the down lines are slower but I also get off the throttle way more than you do.

I think a 3 blade is the answer and they are really quite but I wonder about the diameter being large enough with that big cowl.

Until Max's thread testing props on the 85 I had not heard about the "TH" line of props. I was thinking of a 26x12 or a 27x10 initially, but now I am wondering how the 27x10TH and 27x12TH props would act on that plane. What does the thin profile change in how they pull. Are they better for spinning up higher RPM's or are they just a narrower profile? How does the 27x10 compare with the 27x10TH?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks

Cracky I have tried all the props mentioned here on my Carden Yak..I think the 27/12 TH is the schnizz for the DA 100..You get quicker spool up than all the others mentioned plus you have fantastic pull..It pulls my DA 100 down to the same RPM as the 28/10 but really out performs it...The 27/10 TH is alot of fun..Absolutely instant response and pulls like a mofo.Quite loud though..I've tried the 26/12 Xoar and didn't like it.

My choices would be 27/12 TH...27/10...27/10 TH if noise isn't a problem and you want exceptional throttle response...28/10 and 26/12 just didn't do it for my Yak.

that is a new color scheme really looks great in the air, noise is not a problem where we fly so letting it rip is not a problem, I ordered a 28x10 they are on back order for a few weeks, so for now i will let it rip and try and back off the throttle some not hehe, Yes we now use the new name trying to get it out there, we have alot of planes in stock seems that every one wants a 37.5 these days, We have wings bags and carbon parts too check with on of you LHS or the online guys that you might use for ordering if they are out call ACE HOBBY to see stock statis Dino

Thanks Cracky! I ran it today and it seemed to run OK. I am going to take some temperature readings next time and record RPM's to see what I'm turning. I can't believe how quiet this thing is with cans!

Cracky

On my BBW Carden Yak with MTWs I like the 28 X 10 better than the 27 X 10 a little bit better on an up line.

A better prop for IMAC.

Thanks.

I'm typing like a giant.

Ok was able to pull off two flights before the weather got nasty, first one was to correct the Gg no good plane was noise heavy, ok now for the prop stuff i am only able to pull off 4 vert snaps at full throttle is that ok the motor keeps pulling never fads off just runs out of steam after four on high rates i am running a 27x10th the whole fight i was fighting the plane as it would hunt to find trim. Ok 2nd flight cg much better now plane is now hands off at 1/4 thottle into the wind and the same inverted really locked in now and not hunting for trim OK now back to the prop thing now that the plane feels right again coming out of a down line pass full throttle and pull easy to a vert and fead in full throws i still only can get about four full snaps any thoughts on prop rpms etc would be great thanks Dino

I ended up buying a 26x12 Mejzlik right before the Huckfest. So far I like it. It has a lot more instant thrust vs the 27x10. I might end up buying a 28x10 also just to directly compare the two.....but, for now I'm happy with the prop.

I have been running a 28x10 mejzlk on a DA100 for its whole life and it works great. I do think that it does over rev some though. It is a pretty loud prop also.
