Help! DA 100 IDLE TUNING HELP

OK GUYS HERE MY SITUATION I'M BREAKING IN MY DA 100 IN IDDLE THE ENGINE IS FAILING ITS SHAKING LIKE IF IT WAS DANCING THE MACARENA. I GIVE IT SOME THROTLE TRIM AND IT STOPS.

THE TRASITION FROM TO FULL THROTLE GOES SMOOTH. I CHECKED THE IGNITION SPARKS BY REMOVING THE SPRAK PLUGS AND THEY SHOOT PERFECT ON BOTH SO I RULED OUT IGNITION FAILURE.

I ALSO CHECKED THE SCREEN IN THE BACK PLATE NO OBSTRUCTION FOUND. MY NEEEDLE SETTINGS FROM THE WAY THEY CAME FROM THE FACTORY ON BOTH HIGH AND LOW WHERE SMALL ONES AND ME AND MY BROTHER WE KEPT A GOOD LOG OF HOW MY TRUNS WHERE MADE WHEN WORKING WITH ENGINE.

WE WHERE CONSIDERING THE FUEL AND OIL MIXTURE AS DA RECOMENDS AND WE BOUGHT THE ONE DA RECOMDS THE PENZ OIL ONE. THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING RICH BECAUSE WHEN GET A GOOD WHITE SMOKE RELEASE WHEN GIVEN IT GAS AND ITS STILL RELEASING THE BLACK OIL RESIDUE.

WE WHERE THINKIN THAT ONE OF THE CYLINDERS WAS FAILING DUE TO THE LACK OF WHITE SMOKE REALEASE BY ONE OF THE CYLENDERS BUT WE CHECKED THE IGNITION BUT ITS WORKING GREAT SO WE RULED THAT OUT. WE ARE TAKING IT WITH PATIENCE DUE TO THE REASON THAT THIS IS OUR FIRST GAS ENGINE AND WE KNOW THE QUALITY OF DA 100 ENGINES, BUT NO PRODUCT IS PERFECT WE COULD BE FAILING AT SOMETHING SO HELP US OUT DA OR ANY PILOT IN THE WEB. I'M TRYING NOT TO LOOSE MY PATIENTCE.

MY BROTHER WILL KEEP AN EYE ON ANY RECOMDATIONS AND ADVISE I'M GOING TO BE TRAVELING OUT FOR THIS WEEK. SO FAR TWO GALLONS RUNNED. I'M TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH SOMW OF THE GUYS OF OTHER CLUBS WITH DA ENGINES FOR NO ONE N MY CLUB HAS DA ENGINES NOR FLY IMAC OR 3D AIRCRAFT THEY ARE MORE SCALE PILOTS.

I'm not in any way an expert, but is the idle too low? Often times the idle is rough on a new motor. Once it's broken in, it'll smooth out.

Another thought is buy gas from somewhere else. Some gas stations put water in their gas....

Hope this helps,

Your prop could be out of balance. I think most likely you are try to get to low of an idle. Also have you run the 2 gallons on the ground? Its not good for the engine to run it for long periods of time on the ground. Its best to fly it during break in.

WHATS THE IDEAL RPM FOR IDLE IN THIS ENGINE. MY EMGINE IS SHAKING REAL BAD IN BETWEEN 1900 TO 2200.

Is the engine really shaking or is it "four stroking" that you are feeling? If it is not tuned properly the cylinders will not fire every time and cause the pulses to be uneven. This may feel like a balance shake on the ground and not be. Just like your car or truck engine will shake when it has a misfire, your engine will run rough. Getting the low end right will really change how smooth the engine is.

My little fiddy would rattle bolts loose in the low to mid range until I got the carb dialed in.

You mentioned in an earlier post that you are getting black residue and noteable smoke on transition. How much? Pictures?

THE BLACK RESIDUE NOW FROM THE BEGINING OF THE BREAK IN ISN'T THAT MUCH NOW A SMALL AMOUNT. THE AMOUNT OF WITH SMOKE IS MORE FROM ONE CYLENDER BUT IT AIN'T ALOT ITS NORMAL ONLY IN TRANSITION TO FULL POWER AND ITS NOT ALL THE TIME. WHATS YOUR IDDLE RPM AND DID YOUR PROBLEM JUST CLEARED AFTER CHANGES IN TUNING OR IN OIL CHANGE TO THE RECOMENDED AFTER BREAK IN PROCESS.

ANOTHER THING MY LEFT CYLENDER IS THE ONE RELEASING THE WHITE SMOKE AND MY RIGHT ONE IS NOT. ALSO MY LEFT CYLENDER IS RUNING A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN MY RIGHT ONE.

I am breaking in the same engine right now and when i was getting any kind of visible smoke from the engine it was wayyy too rich also have you balanced your prop tips AND hub? i had to lean it about a half a turn before i could get a steady idle around 1300 rpm but i am still thinking its just a tad rich what rpm are u getting on your high end?
