I have a couple ES pipes that I will be taking out of a 100cc plane, and am thinking about setting one of them up to a 50 and strapping it in an airframe to throw around. I am curious as to anyone's personal setups/experiences here - particularly the header length, prop choice, your impression of the throttle linearity, and maybe top RPM. I am assuming the header length will be shorter than the 11" I currently have, but maybe not? Last edited by bodywerks; 06-06-2008 at 08:20 PM. |

I thought there'd be quite a few people out there running them. Guess not. I am liking them on my 100, but the header length is not ideal for a linear throttle when doing low throttle maneuvers. I am wondering if I will be able to get a better bottom end out of a DA-50 using the same header length. I am not too worried about getting a lot of extra power out of it. I just don't want to run a stock muffler or add the weight of a cannister.

on a 12" header on my brison i had good low throttle but i did have a jump around 4000-4600 or 4800 mark that i could not get out on a 12 inch header i did not try other lengths. I did pick up 300-400 on the average prop on the top end along with being quieter.

i just bought one, with a solid MTW header. He is selling the new pipes with an option for a steel sleve in the inlet to protect against potential deformation of the pipe.

Pepatrick had a 50cc EF Yak with the ES Composites pipe on it... it was absolutel balistic! You might send him a PM about header length, etc..

I have such combo in my EF yak54, sory not sure about header lenght and RPM's, but it sure work not loud, and give really good trust, now i see when brake in is over i get more and more power. I use Xoar 23x8, planning to change it to Vess 23A soon. Here is video; http://www.flyinggiants.com/gallery/...hp?photo=47593
