Default lossing spark

ive got a da50r thats about 3 years old. i bought used 6 mounths ago been running great. but today at the feild the idle got a little rough. i took off and about 3min into the flight it started cutting out. i landed no problem seemed to clear out. then it just died would not start back up. checked plug looked good checked spark it would only spark if i flipped prop real fast. let cool cranked right up after about 3min again dead stick. battery good, connections good, switch good.
what else should i look for before sending the engine & ignition in for repair.
