Kiwi, Thanks for posting that pic w/ the spektrum R/X...... I was hoping to see a pic of one set up this way, answers my question on the extra wires! Was not sure if this would effect the board or not by not having all their leads to a terminal. This is cool, now i am pretty sure i'll set mine up the same way with the spektrum R/X..... it's going in a new 41% Bird, so i was a little leary on doing this, but looks like a winning set-up! Thanks for the confidence instilled!!

Ohh, one other question guys, to those of you using the SF-PE's.....
i notice they are made for JR or Futaba, first off why? is it the connectors that are different is all? secondly by using the Spektrum R/X would i have to get a board for the JR???

They are no longer jr/Futaba. Now it is just called the PRO. They had two different units because the channel numbers didn't line up and JR used Aux 1-5.

Here are the pics before I installed it. It is shown with the optional pin switch charge lead package. It doen't look any different than the hand built units that we tested, that is what Kiwi has in his picture.

OK just to be clear...

You still need the Turbo-Reg if you want only 6.0v to your servos?

If they aren't on the website, how do we get one?

Does or is Smart-Fly going to Toledo this year?

yup, you still need a turbo reg unless you want 8.4 volts going to the servos, including 5955s

Bob will not be at Toledo this year. If you call them at 480 460 2652, you can order the unit. His website will be updated soon.

Smokey I use those German Graupner plugs and you can get them from Hobby Lobby and I think Tower have them now as well. They are a six pin plug so I wire up the twin servo leads to the male plug and glue it to the fuselage in a location that lines up with the servo wires in the wing. The plugs are very tight and snap together so when you pop the wing off you dont unplug anything from the power expander or a receiver. Plus the plug is keyed so you cant get it wrong way round either.

I have all my planes setup this way and some are two plus years old and the plugs snap together like day one.

If your worried there is also a safety clip you can glue in place so the plugs wont ever come apart unless you lift the tag.

Let me go look on the web for some links.
