I noticed that i do not have a HD wire from the reg' to the ignition, now all i know is that when it comes to ignition you need a HD wire. All i got with my reg' are two wires 22G, i saw on the website that they have other reg' with a third wire, HD wire. Now the big Q, can i mold the wires i got with my reg' to the ignition one, or do i need a HD wire for that (another reg') Sending a picture for more details. fromeco.reg.jpg "These wires" Thanks TAZ |

22G isn't heavy enough for you??? I use all 22G stuff and no regulator on my ignition. Should be a male and a female connector coming out of the regulator, unless you ordered on to have the heavier 16G leads on them. The lead that you have shown as you NOT having(16G) would only be for a battery connection.

If you have to have the HD leads, pull the heat sink and shrink wrap off and solder on the wires you need. The regs have all the solder points for the various leads already on there, they just don't ahve wires attached. However, I can tell you that I used the standard Fromeco regulator like you have for ignition from the beginning. Works fine.

Taz, The Stock wire and connections will work great for your ignition. There is no need to up grade unless you can't connect to the rest of your system due to deans being on the other end and not your regulator. For the most part the draw from an ignition is not that massive. The stock connectors and wiring do the trick just fine. Now, if you just want something else on there, listen to Nick or ask for a hand we can talk you through the process of getting heavier wire on there. Please Note: if you suck at soldering just leave it alone, no reason to possibly cause an un-needed failure . Hope that helps Kurt Cook Fromeco Scale Avionics LLC |
