i'm building a wild hare 41% extra and plan to use the seiko driver for rudder and fromeco batteries/switches/regs. i was looking at the wolverine switch and saw it could have a extra lead for the seiko driver. with two battery packs how much voltage does the seiko get and does it pull from both batteries or just one? randy |

Randy. If you want insane rudder power go for the Fromeco Seiko pack. I have used it on two of my planes and they are brutal to say the least with 11 volts into them. I have not used them on six volts so honestly cannot give you an opinion on how that would work. As for taking the 7.4 volts directly off your unregulated packs that could well work but again I have not seen it done. I always worry about reinventing the wheel with setups like this as you never know what the effect of doing it is. By taking power before the regulators means your going to get some serious voltage drop when you slam the rudder over under load. What that will do to the voltage output from the regulators I dont know. Funny things happen when you start mixing servos, voltages etc so take it careful and test test test before commiting to flight. Kiwi |

I just run the one Seiko driver pack. That thing is crazy fast on that battery pack. Very simple with just one switch.

thanks guys, i just saw the option for the extra lead on fromeco's web site and hoped it would save buying a extra battery and switch. the seiko is rated at 1200 oz at 8 volts i think. i thought that would be enough power but not sure and also not sure what effect it would have on the two reciever packs. i may just have to buy the 3 cell fromeco battery and switch, but i will need a charger too because my fromeco charger won't charge a 3 cell battery. randy |

However the rudder is evil with that Seiko servo and 11 volt pack. I also see some guys cutting cooling slots in the servo for better cooling. One of the drawbacks with a Seiko is poor centering. For my dumb thumbs I never notice it but I suppose the gurus do. By slooting the case the servo runs cooler and centers better. Kiwi |
