I have seen one recommended several times made by Pyramid. I also know a few guys using one purchased from Radio Shack.

I have a Pyramid PS-14 power supply that works fine. The only way I have been able to charge at the field is by hooking up to my van battery with the engine running.

That follows what others have said, most alternators in cars will maintain 13.8v or better while it charges the battery.

All ports work fine if you use them independently......Its only when you try to charge 2 or more batts at a time or run 2 chargers off the PS.

I'll borrow a PS this weekend and see if it makes a difference

My Ion does not work when the batteries to charged are connected to the Ion before power is applied to the Ion. If I apply 12v power to the Ion when no batteries are connected, It has worked fine.

Is there a chance you plane batteries were connected before the 12v got connected?

Well I re-tried my Cube with 2 different power supplies and a car battery. It will not charge more than 1 battery at a time. ( I know it used to when I first got it).

I've contacted Fromeco and will be sending it in. For now I'll go back to my Triton until the problem is resolved.

I'm in the same situation...three cells charge painstakingly slow! Start off strong at the set amps I put in to the brain...than quickly die off. After extensive research, I decided the Pyramid power supply was the way to go. Radio shack has a 15 amp model, but read the reviews on their website.....13 reviews and 10 say it's a piece of crap! Thats good enough for me NOT to buy that Radio Shack model. Pyramid should be here in 5 days. I'll post my results.

Good to know they are there for good customer service. Did you purchase directly from them? Got mine from Troy Built Models.

From what I've been reading, the Ion Cube is one great charger. Been using it for my park fliers, it just takes forever to charge up! Just re-did all my power wires to the unit directly from the battery and draining a pack to test as I'm typing. we'll see if that helps! Ordered my Pyramid ps this morning....$90 something delivered...not too bad I guess.

i built one of mike's computer ps and it puts out 12.3 volts at 20 amps and my cube still slows down to a .5 amp crawl when charging 3 cell packs
