IMAC. What pipe do you have on the 1.60? Also are the wings located to spec or are they forward to counter balance the engine?

Th matrix euro is pretty much finished. Just need to get a few more servo's and decide on a paint scheme. One question I have at the mo is what length should I start with the header? I'm running an OS 1.40 with Asano carbon pipe, intending to swing a 17x10 APC

Hi Terry
First 17x10 is a little small for the 140, the standards are 16x14, 17x12 and 18.1x10. These will run at around the same rpm but will be progressively louder due to the higher tip speeds. It is a good idea to run a short header and have an extension between it and the pipe, this reduces the vibration transfered to the pipe and airframe and also allows easy adjustment to the length. Start with the length 600 to 625mm from the piston to the first reflector (baffle ,washer) and test on the ground. Keep shortening the length till the transition to full throttle becomes difficult and the rpm doesnt increase any more then back the length off a little as it will transition better in the air due to the lower load.

If you're using the Asano header, it's a pretuned system. Don't cut it and you'll be fine.

I ran that combo on a PL Products Partner for two years, I had a Bellwood dual plug head, and I really like the APC 15x13W depitched to a 10 three blade on it. I ran 20% heli Coolpower.

Post some pics, I'd like to see it!

Hi Rod.
I presume there are more Matrix's up there than down this end. What would be your recommended prop.

Breadbowl.
I'll take some pics soon as am still trying to get stuff organised after moving. Wife just bought a massive fish tank so it will be awhile before I get my workshop now.
