Here is how I do my servo lead holes. You should be able to see a T pin out near the servo hole thats my aiming marker. I just heat the tip of the wire and drop it through the hole hit the servo box hole first time and needed a 2nd go for the other servo box hole.

Sharpened the ends of the hooks cut a slot with a box cutter and glued them in with PU. Put skewers in this time for peace of mind.

Here is the carbon laminate out of the bag. 270mm x 430mm 206gm. A bit heavy for servo trays so I might stick to light ply. Would be good for firewalls and UC mounts though.

Got the elevators and ailerons lined. Used microballoons/epoxy this time instead of PU. I think PU is better as it is easier to apply and brobably lighter and a better glue. But microballoons is easier to sand and leaves a better finish.

Bit of a change this time around. Am just using 16mm dowel as hard points for the control horns glued in with PU. This is the the boring tool made from K&S brass tube. I have mounted the tube on a piece of ali as it is too big to fit in the drill chuck.

The 16mm dowel has to be reucd down to 15.8mm to fit the quant imperial K&S tube. Mark out the bevel in place the cut off and sand to final fit. The band saw and disc sander is invaluable here. Only had to do one again.

Same deal for the ailerons. I mark the horn position so the pushrod is in line with the airflow. Here is a view of the boring tool and resulting plug. You can see I have a hole in the ali tube holder so I can push the plug out.

Marking out the bevels on the control surfaces and cutting the hinge slots. The Dubro slotting tool is great. Only problem is that you cannot get close to inside corners. I am going to bevel both sides and now I wish I had done that to the rudder too.

Time to do the horizontel stabiliser retainers. I am going to use screws at the ends of the tail tube. Here I am marking out the position for the ply reinforcement and hole. The tube is 11mm so I am using an 11mm drill bit.

Cut out out a square of balsa for the ply reinforcement and then glue it in.
