It will be interesting to see what Comp ARF have to say, I reckon if they can give you a discount on a new 260 (say the cost of 2 new wings) then you'd be better off doing that.

The 260 comes with a 40mm aluminium wing tube like my Extra 300sx - I replaced mine with a PBG carbon tube. I might still be adding a bit of heat protection to mine so the cans don't heat up the carbon too much.

Let us know how you get on.

sell his 260 ? i dont believe it. can only be two reasons, getting a edge 540, or getting married. which one? i knew i would get that 260 cheap one day. alex

ok guys. saturdays aerobatics at balclutha went well. the pre register worked well so we will stick with that.a new face on the scene was louis, welcom aboard. i also got beaten again by colin( bugger). move up out of my way so idont feel so bad. where to from now ? i think we need to have a judging, training day as soon as possible. being in the judging chair for a bit i see the same mistakes being made time after time by each pilot. watch me fly and you will see what i mean. how many of you have a copy of the judges guide? have you read it ? did you understand it all ? as our flying improves i feel our judging must improve also. too easy to get stuck in the narrow scoring band. i thank jonathon for doing the scoring, leaving him no time to fly. made no difference anyway as we cant beat him. and some advice for thomas, dont fly below the distant horizon or the ground will leap up and grab you. alex

Hi Guys
Thanks to those who did show up on saturday and had pre registered. I had a good weekend and learnt more about aerobatics in one comp than I would have in a mounth of sundays at my local field. It was good to meet the lower south island local guys. I think Alecs training day idear is good however it needs the support of the people who need it most. So how about it guys show your support so we can all become better judges and pilots. Maybe for those people who have trouble with email a phone tree would be better suited?
Louis

Hmmm Sounds like there may be an alterior motive behind the "training day" With the nats down that way later on it sounds like a plan.
