Need a little help please. Comp Arf classic 3M Extra DA150 and 32 x 10 mejlik, marvelous machine! Am just at the limit of holding a hover with full available aileron and was wondering if a 30 x 10 or 30 x 12 would produce less torque reaction due to less mass and higher rpm? What do you reckon? I can go for a little more up aileron by re doing the linkages and reprogramming the servos but I'd also be very interested to know if a different prop would change things. cheers Robin |

It seems to me the 30-12 would give less braking and the smaller diameter would allow the engine to spin up quicker. My cousin switched to the 30-12 Mejlik from the 32-10 Mejlik and likes the way the airplane performs much better. It seems to me that he is fighting the tourque from the engine less as he flies the sportsman sequence.. We dont 3D so I cant say for sure how that flight regime would be affected. Mike S |

Just note. I think this is right. Pitch adds torque. So it will perform better in loops and such. Or in simpler terms you'll have more pulling power.

That's incorrect. In the simplest terms, pitch adds speed and diameter adds thrust. | ||||||||||||||||||

On my 102" Yak, I have a 26x12 on a DA 100. Love the prop! Has a ton of power with it compared to the 27x10. It does, I think, have a tad more torque to it though, so I would recommend a 31x10 (if it is made) or a 32x8 (if thats made). You wont have quite as much power, but it should reduce torque if it is anything similar to my DA 100. Seth |
