As for Bill, that plane rolled knife edge on it's own, but he is good enough to recognize what was happening, and stop the roll, which would have turned into a spin, and fly in knife edge. That is a great piece of video.

As for the F-15, the fuse does provide lift, just as our provide a little. I would imagine that the fly-by-wire controls might have also helped quite a bit though.
