Kevin, That thing looks way too nice mate and I'm with Elie on this one. I need to get me a kit cut. Out of plain curiosity what was the reasoning behind the design mods. I mean it looks like a tumbler if I ever saw one. It looks very short and with those monster elevators on that thing will we see some full scale water falls and stuff in the near future. What sort of power to weight have you ended up with. I just drool over that scheme mate. Thats is UBER COOL. Congratulations once again and hope you make it to the NAll again this year. Kiwi |

Jack, It is covered with Polyfiber which is the new name for Stits since Ray Stits sold the company 10 or so years ago. We use polyfiber on all the airplanes we build here. The color paint is not polyfiber. We used PPG on this one to get the colors and effects we wanted. Kiwi, All the changes were for two reasons. Stronger and more maneuverable. The choice of materials in the wings, cowling, etc, was to save weight which helps in both the desired points above. The airplane is the same length and span as bulldog I which is the same as a stock S2S. The rudder is balanced to lighten the pedal forces. Same for ailerons and elevators all of which are WAY oversize from bulldog I. the engine is 405hp on the dyno. So, that works out to be under 4 pounds per hp at airshow weight. We have not run a thrust test yet but will do this after a few more hours are on the engine. It should be in the 1275lb range for thrust. The scheme, as I posted earlier, is the work of Mirco Pecorari in Italy. Next year, you will see 4 or 5 airplanes on the airshow circuit with schemes by Mirco. RCflyguy, yes, the viper is coming along well. I am shooting the clear coat on the top wing today, Sunday, and will cover the fuselage this week. We hope to have it at Sun N Fun. It is a very custom S2S as well that is internally the same as BDII but has a completely unique style outside to go with the snake paint scheme. I am planning on going to the Nall again this year. A lot of work to do between then and now but I think we will find time to shoot up there. Kevin |

That is insane. I can't believe a GP Pitts could ever look like that. You did an amazing job. Very nice.

gjmjoe017, Did you custom make the pilot figure or did you start off with a commercially available pilot figure and modify it? Your's is the first pilot figure that I have seen that actually looks like a real aerobatic pilot w/helmet and visor instead of a race car driver. Travis |
