Funny that the plating company wants paid for a bunch of parts that have no value. To them at least ?
Didn't they think that their work was worth insuring and package the stuff for you to get it back? Got to make you wonder what they were thinking.

I bet that is the last time you use them ?

Sorry Mr. Chapman hope you can find new parts or get the old ones back and hold the plating company to the fire for not insuring the parts for the value.
UPS is the stuff of nightmares. We switched to Fedex and/or DHL about 2 years ago have not had shipping problems since.

That is just flat out funny...I had sent off a racing Kart motor to my motor builder years ago. I got the motor back and it had tire tracks and the wooden box inside the cardboard box was broken up. The fins were bent on the side of the head. A few months later and fighting with UPS... I lost. According to the attourney, the fins were not broken and being bent did not have any performance loss of the motor... so therfor... I lose. I then switched to Fed-Ex. Honestly, I found USPS to be all over it and always taking care of my stuff. Keith

Matt,

Sorry that UPS lost the package. Someone posted that the plating company did not claim any value to the package. My guess is that the plating company didn't want to declare excess value and have to pay, or charge you, addtional shipping charges. Yes belt jams do occur. I've seen a lot in 19 years flying boxes. My employer has been more than benevolent to me, and I can't complain. I hope that the plating company and UPS helps you in any way possible.

Hey, in all honesty...UPS has always done a good job for me. I tend to use FedEX when I ship, but I seem to get most of my stuff from UPS and this is a first. I really just wish it happend to the package before or after this one!!
We'll see where it goes from here!

I was under the impression that we wern't supposed to knock companies or even compare company A with company B in these forums . I really feel bad for your loss Matt . That's a great plane you're building . It sucks . So anyway while we're on the subject let me tell everyone about the Greg Hahn framed Ziroli Zero those a--holes at UPS cost me . I wouldn't use them to ship one of my ex-wives much less something important .

The empty box was scanned the next morning in Jacksonville. WTF, Over? Why would they continue to ship a box that was broken open and empty?
I would have to second your WTF!!?? & Who the hell..?

Life is tough and this situation simply sucks. Sorry to learn of your ordeal Matt. Hate to conclude the outlook appears dubious. Good luck all the same - sometimes things do work out.

No parts. No help from Big Brown. No new engines yet. I know as soon as a drop $2500 on two more clapped out engines, I'll get the call that all that parts were found!
