The leading edge slats like those of a Storch or Wilga seem to be the key to this plane.

Does anyone know how to make a set of those to add to a small parkflyer to get it to REALLY slow down?

I'm a flyer in Oregon and last year during our Cub Nuts r/c event at Mollala, we were lucky enough to have the carbon cub fly in and do a demo. The pilot did several landing/take off sequences. For his final show he went to the corner of the runway and took off across our R/C Field! What a show.

When on approach, with those huge flaps, he almost hung in mid-air.

In addition several other cub-type aircraft visited. I'd encourage you to check out the web site www.cubnuts.com. Although the carbon cub is sold, who knows what might visit next time! I think there's another event in the works for '08.
