I was surprised at how different his flying style was than the others. Another really good one was Patty Waggstaff. She was doing these almost high alpha knife edges and tail waggs in a knife edge. The rest were the typical Mike Gulian, Sean Tucker, etc. They were also good. This Russian guy had a SU and flew that thing almost RC like as well. He shut his engine off in a hover/torque roll close to the ground and re-started it, flew it away clean. He did a harrier for quite a while, even steered it around. Matt Chapman, as you might expect, totally rocked the house.

It's amazing how full scale aerobatics is changing.

I know Gary decently and he does put on one of the better shows you'll see. Real nice guy. His MX2 has an awesome scheme. I'm surprised nobody has copied it onto a model. Really bright colors on his plane.

You know what would really tick Mickey off??? Give him an empty beer bottle and tell him it was from me--but stand back a little because you will probably hear some rather strong explatives come from his mouth.

Hey guys. The show is going well. I've been stuck in this god-forsaken booth all week and haven't had a chance to go watch. Matt, you need to come by us and say hi. We'd love to meet you. We're in building B booth 2088. Next to Microsoft in Aisle F. JA Air Center. Come by and see me. I'm the big grumpy lookin' guy. LOL Just kidding. It's fun. Almost more than half over. Coming up to watch is cool, but working here is miserable.

I agree with Gary Ward's scheme it really shows well. I even liked Patty's new scheme in person. I didn't like it when I first saw the pictures, but it really shows well too.

I haven't been to an airshow in a while and you really can see the difference in the flying style. It really does look like r/c is having an influence.

BTW, I'm back in California....im sure gonna miss that humidity

Hey Mike, don't work too hard, I'm back in Champaign now in the office.

Matt, awesome flying as always, though unfortunetely I didn't get to see much from the hangar (same hangar that Mike is in), but did step out when I got a chance and watched when I could. Always great to see you fly!
