Agreed, however Peter Besenyei 1st,Mike Mangold 2nd.Peter was eating there lunch on the vertical before the last three pylon's.He was only climbing out to an average 836/838 feet where the others were pulling back at 886 plus in altitude. He was making up a second on each round.Kirby is my favorite by all means,he just had a bad run on that last elimination round. He will be back!

Peter Besenyei immediately ordere one and got it last week. He flew it for one training run this weekend at the racee but switched back to his Edge because he hadn't got the bugs worked out of the Extra or hadn't gotten used to it yet.

I understand. BUT...a little parody goes a long way.
The chin scoop on Manigould's (sp) looked like a Reno F1 airplanes intake scoop.
The wing tips made it look kind of like a Nemises. Anything different was cool to me.
I hope they can get the Extras working. I thought the SP models were going to gain some ground?
I was shocked to see so little in the way of sponsors on some of the racers airplanes too.

I don't see how anyone makes any money on this though. It has to be massively expensive.

Peter Besenyei's new Extra 300SR was delivered only 2 days before the race and it's not already set-up like he would have.
But this could be the plane that can beat the Edges 540; they expect a lot of this new type.
I believe Klaus Schrodt from Germany also ordered one and could be ready in October.

Chambliss missed the cones. He's eliminated. Benseyei is nailing it. This is fun to watch. I like the overlaping replays that show us speed advatages approach, altitudes, radius, and exits etc..
