RED BULL Air Race last night....SWEET!

Did anyone else catch the Red Bull Air Race in Abu Dhabi that aired last night on FSN? That's the first time I had seen one and I have to say it was much more intense than I though it would be. Those dudes are low, fast and pullin' 10 G's. I will definitely follow the season this year!

An IMAC pilot is pit crew for one of the racers. Anyone know who Len Rulason works for?

I think he is working for Steve jones now. The race in Hungary ended just about an hour ago. I hope to make it out to San Diego for the race in Sept.

Yeah, I was a bit bummed there are only Edge's. I hear there are other planes on the circuit.

there is extras and an mx2 .. but the 540 is the plane of choice...if they could get the performance out of the extras like the edges maybe someone big would fly it... kirby almost pulled it off yesterday even with a 3 second penelty

I have it on my DVR. I caught the last of the show as it was recording. It is very intense!

That was Awsome,I still cannot believe Kirby did not podium,He did blow it when he mised the triples.Usually he is the quickest through the shacanes.

These guys want to win. They fly what gives them the best shot. There is no question that right now the Edge is the best choice. In Switzerland Ivanoff showed up with an Extra with a new wing, Non-symetrical airfoil and straight leading edge. It did OK but they are working out the bugs. Peter Besenyei immediately ordere one and got it last week. He flew it for one training run this weekend at the racee but switched back to his Edge because he hadn't got the bugs worked out of the Extra or hadn't gotten used to it yet.
