And ,on an Ultralight you can be the Mechanic,No Problem....try working on your own Full scale on the airport ramp and see who turns you in to the FAA first;the FBO-one of your flying buddies,or the airport A&E Mechanic..........

are there any ultralight clubs or a place in southern california for getting lessons? i started getting lessons for a private pilots license last year, but stopped after about 8 hrs b/c it ended up costing too much and was more involved than what want at this point in my life. so now, i'm thinking ultralights might be the way to go.

i still want my private pilots license at some point down the road, but just not now.
