Ok guys here is the real story. My name is Paul Lopez I own one of the full scale MX2's. The MXS (Meyer Experimental Single ) is built by MXR Technologies that builds both the MX2, and MXS. Chris Meyer owns the company. He does own a couple RC copters but never mastered it. The production manager Wade is an excellent copter stick by the way The MXS first flew this summer. Right now the one you see is the only on flying it is the prototype. It is owned by the company and we are lucky that Chris lets us fly it. It will be kept as the factory demonstrator. The pilot in the video is Gary Ward, who owns an MX2 as well. The paint scheme was designed by Mirco Pecorari. He did both Gary's MX2, and the MXS. Kevin Kimball of the Pitts Model 12 introduced us to him. By the way Mirco will be hanging with us and the Kimballs at this years Sun N Fun. Now Extra is going to use him for paint schemes. It is nice to know that Extra if following us. LOL The official numbers on the MXS have not been released since it is the prototype carrying a bit more weight due to some of the fabrication weight. Don’t be surprised when it comes in with a true weight not some marketing weight that is lighter than any other modern Unlimited plane. Production is currently underway at the composite shop in Oregon of several planes. You will see several in the 2008 Redbull Races, the pilots names of the planes can not be released yet. We are excited with the Redbull developments and have had several of the RedBull pilots demoing the MXS in Florida. Chris will have Alan Bush fly the plane in Unlimited competitions for 2008. The video was shot at Chris Meyers house we were shooting ground video of Gary ringing out the MXS when Mike Turffer came over and said he could get us a R44 to shoot from. Then bam we had a R44. We took the doors off and through them on Chris’s front lawn. I stood on the skid using the lap belt to secure me and shot the video. Mike latter edited on his Imac and there you have. That was one fun Saturday with some awesome toys. |

Two of my good friends flew the Velox Alan Bush and Sergei Boriak. The Velox came up in conversation in one of my training camps with Sergei. He felt the wing was a bit to small causing it to stall to easy. You might recall Sergei bailed out of the factory 2 place Velox several years back practicing for Sun N Fun. A bolt stripped out of the elevator control linkage rendering the plane on flyable. Alan flew it for years competing in unlimited and had no real complaints. Funny thing is Alan is now flying the factory MXS in competition for Chris. The Velox that Alan flew which you will see below in the videois red and white ended up with Peter Besenyei. He was to fly it in Redbull . This was two years ago in Abu Dhabi when Michael Goulian flew my plane there. Peter did 2 practice flights in it and found the high stall speed was too much of a problem and gave the plane back. I have never flown a Velox so the above info is purely third hand The flyin community in the MXS video is Willis Glider Port in Boynton Beach, Fl there are several communities like that littered all over the state.
