Yeah but surprisingly, Pantera and ultralight flying don't mix that well.

I have always thought an ultralight is the perfect plane for a partnership. You rarely take them cross country so if you and your partner want to fly on the same day you know the other guy isn't going to be gone too long. 3 guys could go together and they would each have less than a 40%er in the plane. I would not have an ultralight without a BRS though.

What's the deal with sport aircraft vs ultralight? I have my Private license but haven't flown full scale in 20 years. One day I want to get back in with an ultralight and might as well get a 2 seater so I can get my son into it. Can you still fly a 1 seater as a "true" ultralight? If my family doesn't want to go up with me then it would be easier not to have to get my Private lic current and just get a single seat.

How about a clarification for the uninformed: There are NO LONGER any legal two seat ultralights that are not N-numbered. If someone wants to sell you one cheap it means you are buying a lawn ornament to go next to your garden gnomes.

Not in the same airplane! Unless it has an N-number.

So if you bought a used 2 seat ultralight, there's no way to get it an N number? This has to be done when it was new?
