I would say that the fly-by is from the 2005 race season in San Francisco with Mike Mangold's Dragon Edge.

In 2006, Mike sold his Dragon Edge to Paul Bonhomme. Paul was racing with Mike's old Edge starting at the Istanbul race, in August of 2006. Paul had the airplane vinyl wrapped into his colors before the Istanbul race. Mike Mangold debuted his new all white Edge at the Istanbul race. The San Francisco 2006 race was run in October.

The Edge in the video has a dark fuselage/spinner like Mike's Dragon Edge. The Help Wanted logos on the wing were Mike's way of saying he was looking for a sponsor.

I have pictures from the 2006. 2007 and 2008 Red Bull Air Race season on our website at www.acrodesigns.com

Cheers,

Anna Wood

The call sign was red bull Number 5, so I'd say your right as that was mike's number in 05. Looked like his edge too.
