Nice video. One of the nicest and most talented pilots out there. I was honored to get to meet him in Dayton back when they had the M.O.D. there. That was the best show I've ever seen bar none.

Ya that flying over the water was at the Ft Lauderdale Air & Sea Show that they hold every year right on the main strip.I have gone to that show for 14yrs now and i have say that flight was buy far the most off the hook flight i have ever sceen.There were points he was so low that the plane was pushing a rooster tail.....Man did he push the envelope.

Jim was definately amazing! definately one of the best aerobatic pilots on the circuit in his day. I wish he was still around, that was a sad day with his passing...

October, There is an RC fly-in called the Jim Leroy memorial fly-in that a bunch
of us STL guys are going to. Its 100 miles east of St. Louis in Southers IL.

Awesome tribute brought tears to my eyes ! I lost my best friend from age 6 we swam competively and we roadraced motorcycles together and he got his big break and went to Japan for the start of a great carreer and died on the warm up lap as well as 2 others as the lead bike over the crest of a hill put a rod through the cases and put oil all over the track ,Tom was of in the dirt thinking he was clear when a tumbling bike bounced up and he got it in the head killing him instantly? I tried to get a decent pic of his memorial poster in our entrance way but too many reflections?

That's cool brian to have a memorial of your friend like that. i don't have any memorials of the few friends i have lost to racing , but i do remember all the good riding and racing together I had with them. I know that they went out of this world doing the one thing they loved to do the most. A lot like Jim leroy....

i wish i could have seen jim fly in person , like i've seen tucker fly. just by watching his videos , it really would have been something to see him fly and to meet him in person. he was definetly living the dream man!

I saw Jim LeRoy fly twice. I wish I had seen him more. He was definitely the best, and 2nd place was a long way off.

I think anyone who ever had the opportunity to see Jim fly would have to agree there never has been,or probably never will be anyone who could put on an airshow like Jim.And for those of us who got to know him,you'll never meet a better guy to sit around and talk with than Jim.I had a blast getting my Bulldog II done with Jims help and will get a big kick out of helping to keep Jims memory alive through my scale model of Jims plane.

Joe...could you possibly put up some more pictures of your Bulldog 2 ? I would love to check this thing out a little better. And for petes sakes.......please fill me in on the details of this thing! what scale is it , what motor , electronics and so forth. That bulldog is amazing man!!

Thanks!It started out as a GP Pitts that I stripped down,a friend in St.Louis who is a fantastic builder did the mods to the wing tips,center of top wing and tail group to match Jims.It's not exact,but pretty close.We covered it in Super Coverite fabric.Has a DA 50 w/smoke.Hitec digital servos.Pilot was made by Michael Hicks of Wingman Designs made from pics of Jim himself!The cockpit was made from actual photos of Bulldog II by Virtual Cockpits.The last scale detail I have to finish are the scale flying wires on the wings.Flys great,a bear to land.Wants to fall if you chop the throttle,has to be flown down to the runway with speed.Here are some more pics.
