AWESOME Matt!! I didn' know you could do so much with the 200hp class aerobat. The plane looked very crisp and lite. Any idea how much yours weighed compared to Leo's?

Elton, all up weight with fuel, smoke fluid and Matt was documented at 36 1/2 pounds. That was on a UPS scale but is probably pretty close. Didn't have a calibrated scale, but that weight was before the graphics were put on so it's conservative. The new Laser Z300 kits with the Lycoming Thunder Bolt, carbon spar and landing gear should be around 37-38 if you're careful doing the build. Obviously there will be planes coming in heavier if you get sloppy with the epoxy, so don't expect all builds to yield the same results.

All of us who love airplanes both full scale and models share a couple things. We can't get enough power, we spend far too much time and money, we have modeling buddies we'd do anything for and if your life and retirement depended on it, lie like hell about how much an airplane weighs!

Somehow find a way to turn the Mass up on the bird. Maybe you can change the Reynolds # somewhere.

Thats very impressive!

Man...I am surprised to see the wings are still on that Ol Bird After all the ringin out you did with it through the years, it is a testiment to your building skills that it has held together. I remember the one time you let me fly it, I was surprised to see the wings skins rippling under high G loads!!! Think I still have the scars on my shins from bagin into the wing spar

Stay safe buddy..Earle & Pat

If you go to www.barnstormers.com search 'laser' and you'll find my old plane for sale. It's the red/white/blue one fro 75k.

Was a killer plane, just not up to being competitive in unlimited while trying to make the US Team.

Hey Matt, Great job at New Garden today. I always love watching you fly and I like the "cozy" little airport air show.
