At < 20' off the runway and on the threshold- cut the engines. At that point of commitment what could possibly happen to make you need to go around again? A picture perfect emergency landing. |

Once you're sure you're going to make the runway, the best thing to do is shut the engines down. I'd rather scratch the paint than destroy $200,000 worth of props and engines. I fly a Cessna 340 and that's the first thing you are told to do is to feather the props and put the motor away. If you have a prop strike with the motor running by FAA rules you have to tear the engine completely down for inspection. That was a perfect gear up landing, well done. Jay |
