Hey there, I have finally given this a go. I have found with my PS that I dont need the resistors on the 5V line. The PS powers on without anything else connected to it, just join green and black together and hey presto the PS is running, then you just hook whatever charger you want to it and go for it. Has anyone else found that their PS will work without the resistor on 5V?

Here it is, no bling here, its only a 250W supply, so only one set of plugs (some idiot cut off most of the yellow wires not most of the red ones )Never mind, if I want more plugs I can solder new wires onto the 12v board if I want.

For those of you that are interested and have the problem with the PS turning off when you plug a charger in, Bob's idea works..a 1000uF 35V Capacitor on the 12V rail works great. Works like a charm! They're $1.69 at Radio Shack.

Well, I finally went ahead and built one of these for myself. I picked up an Antec tripower supply rated at 650w. I ended up with three legs regulated to 12.1 volts and 19 amps per leg. No bling, just some heavy duty power. I was able to easily identify the three supply sections on the board and I ran multiple wires to each plug on both power and ground, yet still kept the three circuits. I did leave one extra set of wires (5v and a ground) long and tucked in the case for future use. I think it would be great for powering up a model on the bench for testing without running down a battery.
