Default Re: FrankenPower! Building a 12V Power Supply

A question for any one who can answer.....:

My buddy just gave me an Enermax switching power supply, Model # EG651-V(E)
The tag on the side reads that it has 24A at 12volts, and a peak power of 650W.
i'm looking at all of the wires, and they look to be the same setup as the ATX, with
all of the same color wires and everything.
Has anyone tried using one of these? I'm curious if it will wire up the same as the
ATX units?

It should be fine. The circuit board should be stamped with the voltage (where the wire is soldered to the board) for each colour if they are correct then you are good to go. I have built 2 of the from different brand power supply and they were both wired the same.
