Default Build: Aeroworks Electric 260 Profile

Aeroworks came to our Big Bird Festival just as they do every year. They had these little electric profile Extra 260's for sale so I picked one up. This should be a killer little plane. And best of all, it comes with these little SFG's you can put on it.

I did a little work during my lunch break the other day. I got the wing mounted to the fuse. In the instructions, they say to just poke holes in the covering where the wing will line up with the fuse and then line it up and hit it with thin CA. I decided to remove the covering from mine to get a good wood-wood glue joint. It's a little extra work but probably worth it.

I also jumped a little ahead and removed a small piece of wood in the tail that you'll have to remove later anyways to glue in the horizontal stab. I find it's much easier to do this while the fuse can be laid on a flat surface than to juggle the fuse/wing assembly and risk cutting yourself with the xacto knife.

I then moved on to install the horizontal stab. The manual called for the same hole punching process, but I opted to cut back the covering and remove it as on the wing.

This plane goes together really fast. You could have it ready to fly in a few hours.

Any update on this ben? I picked one up, but I've only got as far as motor installation (i did that first so i could use the open wing area to hold it back while i screw in the mount) and the landing gear (which seems quite strong).

Yep, I've flown it to. Flies great but be prepared to add some right aileron trim on the maiden. I would've continued with the build, but my camera went down.

By the way, this flies like a dream. Great in some heavy wind too. Flew it in about 5-10's and with the Park 400, it was great.

Managed to get my first rudder-to-ground touch with this flying in a golf dome. Glad I found it. It's kinda turned me on to eletrics more and more now. I can't get batteries charged fast enough to get flights on this!

450 Would work, but it'd be over powered in my opinion.

I've been flying the wings off this thing for a couple of weeks. My new thing is profile balsa electrics. They are so easy to fix (trim covering, add CA to break, tape, fly).

My setup is 4x HS-55's, 25A Castle ESC, Park 400, 10x4.7SF, 1320 Thunder and 910 Thunder.

Solid ship. 910 has a lot of pop to it vs the 1320.

Great to hear this is a great littly flyer! I picked one up in Toledo. It will be a couple of weeks before I can get to it. Trying to finish out another AW project right now.

I wanted something to throw in the trunk of my car to fly at lunch.
