| Here is our recently converted TF giant scale P-51d Mustang We used an operable 4 bladed SoloProp and it worked great! www.soloprops.com here is a video of our maiden flight: Click here to watch TopFlite-GS-P51d-Electric-Neu2215-12s-24--SoloProp setup: NeuMotors 2215/1.5y geared inrunner 24" SoloProp (variable pitch, set at 10) JetiSpin200 ESC ThunderPower 12s, 9000 mAh lipos in this brief maiden we never moved the throttle past 50% and amp draw was high (140+) so Carl Peter at SoloProps is making me some 20 and 22" blades to try on the same hub and the should provide plenty of power with less amp pull through the powertrain. All connector were 5.5 mm bullet type and wire was 13 gauge silicon. We fabricated a safety shunt mounted under the cowl (at the end of the video this is what my son, pilot reaches down to unplug before he inspects for damage from his bumpy landing--none found but for the tail gear which retracted due to an air leak we discovered just before takeoff so we flew with the gear down the entire flight) |
