Default Re: Downline Snaps?

Get off the elevator, and into the correction!!!!!. There's no way you can do a proper downline snap and not change pitch. The same goes for a snap on a horizontal line. You always gain some attitude beacuse of the pitch change. As long as you correct the nose angle to level quickly, and flying in front of good judges you shouldn't be deducted points. For presentation I tend to push the nose past vertical to the belly to compensate for the pitch change. If I do it properly after the snap I'm on a nice vertical line. Good luck
Happy landings.....

You need to be carful when you start to try and stop the autorotation of the snap. If the auto rotation stops before the completion of the snap then you are downgraded 1 point for each 10 degree of rotation remaining. Good judges will be able to pick when the autorotation stops and you are just aileroning it through the final portion. You will gain alttitude in your snap and it wont be downgraded as long as your starting and finishing attitudes are the same

You aren't judged on entering and exiting altitudes. Snaps will alway's displace, it's the nature of them. You're judged about starting and exiting on line. Pedro's technique works well too if u can hide it like that. If you try what I do with the rudder and flying through the snap and make it happen real fast while putting it in the judges faces it'll prove to them there are no downgrades.

I do it alot like Kelly. I get out of the rudder at the 3/4- mark of the single down line snap. I stay in the elevator the whole snap. It is on line at the end of the snap. This will also work on the horizontal single snap.
