Use the stock Extra 300L that comes with AFPD...the one with the yellow and red "paint drip" scheme. The CG is set right for good IMAC so all you have to do is set your rates (flight modes or dual rate switches) and throws/expo, then fly like you would at the field. ![]() Try throwing in some wind and a little turbulence. There's also a Farmland scenery with lines in the sky for practicing straight flying. You can find the sceneries on several AFPD download sites, just do a search. Good luck!

The AFPD Extra slows down a little quicker than the real thing when I cut the throttle (downlines and landing), other than that it flies very close to the real thing. Keep in mind that center of gravity has an immense impact on the way an aircraft flies. You can change the CG on the stock Extra and see the difference in the way it performs. My 38% Columbo Anderson Extra flies a little lighter than the plane on the sim, so throttle response is more immediate during 3D maneuvers. I am running a 32x10 Menz on my Columbo compared to the 3 blade prop on the AFPD Extra. The 3 blade prop won't have that immediate thrust like a 2 bladed prop. Some people like the way a 3 blade prop smooths out the power inputs. Find a field nearby where people fly 40%ers and just watch. I learned a bunch by just hanging out and watching...you may not even join that club, but the info you learn there will help you comfortably and safely move up to a bigger plane. Good luck!
