What for?

IMAC, 3-D, Sunday flying.

Where is your budget?

For IMAC......the AW Yak is proving to be quite competitive as an ARF.
For 3-D you have many choices as the plane doesn't have to track quite as straight
For Sunday flying.....its all about budget

Take a look at the Aeroworks QB line, as well as SD models from Thundertiger. I just saw the QQ 120" Yak fly yesterday and it flies awesome. Jtecs look nice from what I have seen, but every one I have seen was heavy, but they were old kits so that may have changed.

You can fly a Wild Hare Extra 300 with a new engine and new servos for about $4,500, it's a 9 for IMAC and a 10+ for 3D.

The wings are a little thicker and the leading edge slightly less sharp than some of the IMAC only type planes. This makes stalls a little less critical. A wing with a sudden stall is easier to fly in the upper IMAC classes because advanced and unlimited are filled with snaps. Below advanced it's much less important.

But the less critical wing makes 3D stuff much easier, the plane is far less likely to do something weird if you let the airspeed drop. A sudden and unexpected stall in a low harrier can be a disaster, the Wild Hare Extra is very forgiving in this respect.

I have about 300 flights on my Wildhare and concur with Tom's description. You won't find a better plane for the money.
