| Flyin' Around ![]() | Let me start by saying thanks to all those that supported the Intro to IMAC in Danville, IN. Lisa and I met allot of great folks and hope to see you on the trail... I've got the basic sequence down (in theory with a stick plane). I should be ok...However, I would also like to practice Sportsman which leads to some interesting questions: Sequence 1 - It shows a 4 near the 1/2 roll on the initial upline and a 2/4 on the second upline. This is a bit confusing to me, but working through it and relying on the discussions in Danville, it appears that the 2/4 represents the number of points in the roll to be completed and the 4 is a reference that shows there are 4 total points in a 360 degree roll. In summary you need to do 2 of 4 points on both upline segments. Is this correct? Perhaps it's only a 1/2 roll on the second upline? Little lost here... Sequence 5 - 3/4 on the upline (not confusing) 3 of 4 points on the upline; push over the top and of the 8 points do 2 of 8 points on the down line. This is confusing because it doesn't show a 4 near the 3/4 on the upline. Seems a bit inconsistant and adds to my confusion. By the way the 2/8 must be in the opposite direction of the 3/4 or you exit in the wrong direction it appears, if I understand this correctly. Sequence 8 - Same delimma as sequence 1 & 5. It appears to be 2 of 4 points on the upline and push to horizontal. Now, if someone reply's back that I must do an 8 point roll followed by a 2 of 8 point on the down line for sequence #5, I'll assume you are a Sportsman. ![]() Thanks, Larry Diamond |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | Anytime there is a Fraction with a whole number around the same roll elembent, the fraction is the number of points to do and the whole number is the number of points in a full roll. So when it says 2/4 then 4, that means you do 2 points of a four point roll. So you roll to knifeedge, the roll to inverted, for the 2 points. If is says 4/8 then 8, that means you do 4 points of an 8 point roll. So you roll to 45, then 90, then 135, then to 180 (or inverted). You are correct in your understanding. On number 1, you do the 2 pts of the 4 point roll on the first line, then just a half roll on the second 45. On number 5, since it is just a 3/4 and not (3/4 then 4), it is just a three quarter roll. No points. There will always be a fraction and the whole number for points. The 2/8 is a point roll, since is does have an accompying whole number. The direction is implied by the way you have to exit. You have that. The only time you are forced to do two rolling elements the same (or opposite) directions are when they are on the same line. You have number 8 exactly correct.
