As far as lines between figures go, remember that the one and only requirement in the rules is that it is long enough for the judges to recognize it is there. If they do not see a line it is a 1-point deduction from BOTH figures that the line should have connected.

Basically you should fly the shortest possible line that is still clearly there and as required to place your next figure where you want it. The line between these 2 figures could be very short, as can the line between the Hammerhead and loop.
