Im Flying Sportsman this next year with my 40% carden Extra 260 and I have a new freestyle plane sitting on the bench waiting to be assebled and flown BETWEEN some powerlines. Its a 35% extra 260 by Rich Models, re-fresh DA 100 and New IGN from DA, 8 Brand spanking still in the package JR 8611A's, all fresh back from FROMECO switches, batts, and regs (same electrical setup as my Carden), CF wing, Tail tubes, cf spinner, cf tailwheel, not sure what the chineese call the stuff that looks like a landing gear (fiberglass I think), New Mejzlik 27" thin prop...........so clearly the fail point is going to be the guy behind the sticks.......

Have NOT flow 1 day since my last flight at the TAS (foamy 2 flights)......

Carden is sitting on the bench with the re-freshed 150 from DA ready to purr...... with the trusty 3 blade back on it....looks like rain this weekend!

But will they all start at IDLE !!! .

I had set the fail-safe, I had the airplane securely restrained (??), the receiver was on, the light was lit, the throttle was set at idle, now............if I can only remember to turn the transmitter on! Oh well, no harm no foul, and it certainly gives us something to talk about while I am struggling with the sequences. Thanks for remembering, Peter!

My van broke coming home from the Richland contest May 17th. It is fixed and running fine, 100 miles so far, as of Nov 6th. It appears I again have a vehicle that will transport my plane. 5-1/2 months of BS.

This coming season I plan to fly Sportsman again. I have the 42% TT TOC Extra 260 which was unveiled at Dusters and still only has 19 flights on it. I also have found a replacement NIB 41% Wildhare Extra 300 I'm going to put together for the upcoming year as well. Maybe with 2 planes I can get to 4 contests this year.

I may be able to flesh out my new 35% Extra (same as Vinces) and get some practice in by next season. I don't know how I'm going to transport the thing. I don't thing it'll fit in my Jeep Wrangler!

Thanks Yakpilot, I look forward to meeting and flying with you too. Nick S. seems pretty determined to not fly. I hope he changes his mind. He is an excellent pilot. It wouldn't suprise me to see Devin out with us as he is or was really hooked on flying. That 260 is a great choice. I am thinking I'll get one too. Sounds like allot of nice planes are being built and readied to fly. I love a new plane, I just want to get it without crashing the predecessors! Ha!

V. , are you really going to fly Sportsman? Maybe that's what I too should do. I might be more competitive there...

plowboy, you ever see this thread?
"I want a giant but cannot transport"

I’ll be flying my Yak next year in sportsman. I really think it's going to be a great IMAC season.

My dad also plans on flying next year in basic. He doesn’t have a plane yet but he is looking at going electric in the 30% size...

If there was a big enough indoor place in the area I would say that we should do some indoor IMAC or pattern and freestyle!
