Oh shut up Mike!! You know your Dad pays your fees!!! ROFLMAO

dqman40rock, That is a very commendable gesture on your part. It's nice to see that there are folks out there like you. I was beginning to lose heart in the human ability for kindness but I'm glad to say you have re-kindled it. Thank you from me and every one of your beneficiaries!

Thanks Darrin.

I do not want to start the whole thing about money again but as discussed last year my feelings are still the same. This is not about me being able to pay the 30-40 bucks. As you all know i usually drive the motorhome to the events which is sometimes $200-$500 (except for Tucson) just for gas. My point is that the typical basic flyer we are trying to attract into IMAC is struggling spending $4 at the hobby store for another prop and we are going to ask him to drop $35 to fly for 35 minutes over a weekend contest. I am just trying to think of the future of IMAC.

But it is very easy for me to sit back and throw darts when i havent even signed up to CD an event, so i am not going to comment on this anymore (at least until i CD an event).

I talked with Keith at the field today while flying my sailplane (thanks for the photos and retrieving the dolly, Keith) and we have come to an understanding. All events at the RAMS field will now include a $35 entry fee.

Okay that last part might have been lost in my cheesed out memory, but I did almost drop my transmitter when I heard how much the trophies cost. The winners better be going home with some nice ones!

Guy's I think the cost of the contest's is a direct reflection on where Imac is going, look at any contest in any region and you will see more 40% aircraft than ever before. look at what Basic flyers are flying, 40% aircraft with an occasional 35% here and there, this is giving the impression that if you can't afford or fly one of these aircraft then don't bother with Imac. I think this is the wrong way for this hobby to go, the sequences seem to get harder so that people don't have to move up a class, don't get me wrong I like the challenge of the sequences but look at the difference from basic to sportsman, there is a large learning curve between classes with the unkowns and the other allowed manuvers. I have been trying to get basic to do unknowns for the last year and we have had some positive comments on the few times we tried it. I think we need to look at the way we are marketing Imac to the public and maybe do a better job in keeping the cost down and the perception that you need a 40% to get good scores. Now where is the sun.

Darren, that is soooooo cool of you, and I would ask upon your company's graciousness, though if I drive up to Olympia with the trailer and my family, I should be able to afford the entry... Way to go man you are amazingly awesome... I have nothing but these words to describe how cool that offer is.. We truly are the BEST region in IMAC!!!! No one can dispute that, or rather I dare them... We take care of our own...

Flynz... Flying a 25% in Basic, not a 40% er

Good morning all. Today is the 30th. I am keeping my eye on the weather channel. I don't know about everyone else but I need to be in the air. Where ever you are I hope you get to make it to a field today and get some flying in. I would not say it looks especially lovely outside, but I see no rain or snow ... I am gettin my trailer loaded and filling up with gas. Next, I am calling the Predator and wakeing him up. I am tired of being limited to my sim, I want the real deal. Weather man says east and north of Seattle might have some spotty moisture. That's good enough for me. I am flyin...... See you on the field. Rooster I will have your landing gear with me.

Dude, they are the coolest popsickle stick trophies I have ever seen ...... just kidding. No, I mean really... we even painted them .... Really, this is a joke. I would expect to be banished to China or something if we did that. That might not be so bad though. Heck, on my first unknown in Tucson last season, I am sure I was blown to Egypt. My plane was so far away, a 40% by the way, that it looked like a pencil. Learning to fly wind correction, at the last moment, or last sequence I might say, was my best achievement in Tucson. I am proof that even if you dominate last place, as I did in Tucson in my class, you can still come back feeling some sense of accomplishment. The strong winds there really make you develop skills quickly or mess your pants, one of the two! Okay, enough rambling. I hope all of you have a great day! Smells funny around here.....
