Well boys the trailer is loaded and I hear a faint call. It grows louder as the clock ticks down... "time to go to the Polar Bear." I am thinking that baseing my decision on the weather is crazy. This is Washington and if you hang around for 15 minutes it'll change anyway. Plus this is what I crave all season when I am not flying... the opportunity to FLY with my friends. I sure hope to see all of you there. We have some nice prizes donated by vendors and the two days will be packed with fun. For those who want to make an early go of it, we'll be at the field tomorrow, Thursday about mid day to early afternoon. Please remember, if you get there earlier, no flying until 9:00am and no flying beyond the entrance gate to the flight field, thank you.

Pilots meeting will be at 8:00 am Saturday morning. We will begin flying at 9:00am sharp so please have your planes charged, together and ready to go.

Saturday evening we will have a foamy freestyle and a good meal. We might, weather and time permitted, have an IMAC freestyle round on Saturday, and then another Sunday. Obviously weather will greatly influence the exact time slots.

We certainly hope you make it and we'll try to post some news during the contest. I wish everyone a safe trip, great flying and a fun time. See you there.

Hey guys, Maybe some of you have seen this. try this link, it's what all the hangglider, skyjumper, paraglider, soaring, guy's and anyone else who needs ground weather details use. They give a lot of weather details for any local area.

Sounds good Mike. I"m very excited as well. I'll be crossing the border at 10am on Friday. Hopefully weather lets us get some practice friday afternoon.
Looks like we"re going to have 6 pilots from up North attending the start of the 2008 season at Polarbear.

Cheers....Jerry

Tony,

Don't let the weather hold you back. This IS spring, meaning despite what the forcasters say, we'll have a mix. Tell Tom to quit worrying so much and come on down. If not then we'll miss you. We have these guys coming all the way from Canada. You are gonna miss your opportunity to make new friends, fly with new competitors, some great time in the air and win some nice prizes. This is going to be a big contest, what about the points...?

Hi Guys:

Update on Polar Bear. Got here about 1 Pm, and it was off and on showers until about 5PM. Wind was strong but came down about 3 PM. Lotsa flying and prcticing between showers all afternoon. Near sundown, another contingent appeaed, and it looks to be a go. May have showers to contend with Saturday, but Sunday looks to be a bit better. All in all looks to be a good kickoff for the season.

Darren got whacked by a prop, and hurt his fingers, but fortunatelly doesnt seem too bad. Other than that, safe and sane flying and some good 3D by Brian Webb and Darren.

We'll be ready to go in the morning.
