Can you upload directly from your computer to the website, I think Extreme flight has HD videos and you choose the resolution when you click to watch them.

Darrin and Mike were flying. I was standing with Mike observing. Mike came out of a vertical downline practicing his sequence to the right, and Darrin's plane suddenly appeared in my vision from the left, and then there were no aiplanes, just confetti falling in the late afternoon sun. It was beautiful and sad at the same time once you realized what had happened.

Darrin stood there with his mouth open, and Mike with his hands on his head for what seemed like 5 minutes. There was absolute silence. And I wasn't about to say anything.

Kind of funny, about 5 minutes before this happened I asked Mike why he wouldn't let me fly the big Yak, boy did that get a rise, Only kidding of course. I would have paniced if he handed me the TX.

It would depend on the size of the Video actually. For 2 reasons. We have a defined amount of space on the hosting server, and if they are too large, some of our users still are on dial up, and would take all night to download them to watch. The only way to allow the Dial-up users effective viewing would be to convert to Streaming Video, and that takes a long time to make happen.

Depending of course on the size of the Video you start with. I've had some that took 4-6 hours to convert and process. And it uses a lot of RAM. My 2 Gig RAM locks up on any video over 10 minutes long.

I have a question I hope someone will answer for me. I was looking at the results of the contest and I noticed a senior class. Just what are the rules for that class(Besides being older than dirt,) what routine do they fly and are there points given, and does it allow you to fly Freestyle with the young guys......Thanks.

The senior class championship is unique to the NW region. A senior trophy is awarded at each contest to the pilot over 60 (used to be 50) who scores the highest percentage of his maximum potential score when flying in his usual IMAC class, i.e., the highest percentage attained of what the score would be if he got all tens for his maneuvers, 10's for sound and 10 for ASC and no breaks. In this way the senior competition can span classes. The senior pilots then accrue regional points toward the year end senior championship for each contest they fly in and an annual senior champion is named at the end of the year based on these. The senior stuff just described is not flown as a distinct class and has nothing to do with Freestyle.

Hope this helps

I don't know how they compute the results for the seniors but I do know that they fly with the rest of us in the regular classes. they have a way of computing the seniors scores from all classes in a way that makes it an even and fair playing field for the seniors only. They don't have their own seperate sequence or anything like that. The age req. changed this year from 50 to 60. too many I guess. Awards are given out just like all the classes and it's to recognize the senior pilots flying abilities, and there are some real good ones. Hats off to all you seniors

Nick - new plane is good but somehow it came out looking just like yours!!! LOL

I maidened it last week and it went well. Had a bad 2.4 remote antenna, and I had the elev set
with some up ( hard without balance tabs....) but it is good. Waiting to fly again between the
rain drops. I admire you hard core snowmen who braved the elements this past weekend - I would have turned into an ice cube. Good job!!!

Chuck - don't be put off by age. We have a number of guys in the upper sixites and into the seventies
that fly regularly - myself included. It is particularly gratifying if we are lucky enough to beat the younger guys we fly against. Reminds us that we are still kicking. Give it a try. Whatever the outcome, your overall flying will improve considerably just for the effort.

Thumbs up Re: 2008 Polar Bear, Invitation, Kickoff Discussion

[quote=rtishchuk;440423]Hey boyz

The only reason I couldn't make it to the contest, is because I was working on my plane. And guess what? its done!!!!!.

Will try to get it in the air by the end of the week. I am alittle scared to fly the big ones.

Hey Roman, great news about your plane, let one of us know when your gonna be down at the field with it and we'll come and help you out.
