Of course you can just skip the turns....keep driving down the highway and pass the field....see the airplanes flying and realize you missed the turn. Then have to drive miles out of the way to do U turn and then come back to where you thought the entrance of the field is but end up driving right up to the runway and crossing the flight path......

Not that I've ever done that or anything

The directions from
Vegas are as follows:

I-15 south (about 4 hrs worth) to the I-215 past March ARB to 4th street (CA 74). Turn left from the off ramp and go over the bridge to San Jacincto(sp). There is a shell station on the left side of the road. Turn right on San Jacincto(sp) and go past the yellow gate. There is a dirt road on the right hand side past the gate that is about a mile long, you should be able to see the field from this point.

I have had to mapquest the intersection of 4th and San Jacincto(sp) in Perris, CA for directions in the past.
thanks Andy for all the help i will be following Gun show and Seg down we should be pulling in around 3pm on Friday hope to get in a flight or to

This was exactly the method I used for my first trip out there. I do not recommend it however!!

Thanks for the "kind" words. Life gets in the way more often than I would like. I was serving too many masters and none of them as well as I would have liked to. SO I have had to cut back a bit.

I am actively competing in thermal duration contests. We have a contest series here in SOCAL much like the SCAT Series was. We have 8 contests at various venues over the course of the season (March to November). They are 1 day events and draw 50 to 80 of the very best soaring pilots around, including many US Team members. Plus I fly at my soaring club monthly contests (Torrey Pines Gulls) where we are the proud home club of 2 of the 3 US World F3B Team Members for this year. They are off to Switzerland to defend our honor very soon.

I have also been playing around with a heli on and off some as well. Just have not had the time to squeeze in anything else for now

This weekend the conflicts are: Attending the Chino Airshow with a friend who has scored flight line access for us. SO I can get up close and personal with the planes. And Sunday is one of the aforementioned soaring contests up in Duarte at the end of the 605 freeway. Too many toys, too little time.

But I still don't smile very much

Hey Boys,

I wish I could be there this time but the wife told me no way, I have to listen to the boss. Fly low, fly hard and if you can't score good, scare the crap out of the judges! See ya, Bernie
