Bigtime ditto on that! I the only one who's amazed by how the chopper mad dogs the water? How long did it take for the aerial fire support to make it in?

All the Fire Depts are real nervous this year around here, exception for myseslf, I say bring em' the more fires the more $$$$... you have a small grasser like that and you'll get the world coming for back up. Especially up there in CDF land where there are unlimited wildland firefighting resources (as long as there are no other fires). To throw a heli, and an S2T fixed wing at something that small is almost unheard of. Usually that is handled by a couple of pumpers, and some ground pounders.

We had a lock out on an electric 3D Hobby Extra 300SHP and it nosed in. The lipo battery started the fire. It spread 20 acres in about 20 minutes. Winds were 12-15mph and some structures were in the potential path of the fire. Hence the CDF sending the heli AND not 1 but 2 S2T aircraft.

On a lighter note:

THANKS Kip for a great event, well run and great competition. Should be on everyones list for next year.

Dont forget about the B 10 spotter plane doing circle up hi....about 4 minutes the fire department was there and about 8 min arial support was on it .....Man the Imac crew pulled no stops on trying to put this out. All ran like hell and put there lives on the line with no question asked. This is a prime example of the people we get to share such a great sport with!!!! we almost had it out 4or 5 fire extinglishers and what ever water we could get to...slamin it with jacket and blankets....down to a 10 foot patch and bam the fire came to life again.....created its own wind and ran like hell......Zack was on the phone with 911 very fast and somone yelled were done pull out........ Im proud to be a part of a great group of people!!!!

Glad all are safe, no injuries, and no structures.... Its hard for me to go on these big fires out here, cuz I just get stupid when I hear the roar of the aerial troops coming in.... I break out the camera, when I should be puttin wet stuff on red stuff.... I ve been pretty lucky a few times to be put on a heli spot pumping water to the choppers. Its pretty eerie to look out over the horizon when there is a smoke inversion and see like 7 chops lined up waiting on you for water. They sit and hover waiting for you to fill em up, and once one leaves the other files in right behind it. Pretty cool..... Ill have to send you guys some junior firefighter badges.

Shane is right about how awesome it was when everyone jumped in to try and help. We almost got it, but bottom line is don't put life in jeopardy ahead of a fire and remember the potential our sport can do in dry grassy areas. Thanks to everyone there for their help and support. Big thanks to the CDF. Proud as well to belong to this great community of IMAC'ers.
