Congratulations to Andy P. and "Uncle Frank" O. They put on a splendid event as usual, and A big thank you to the Channel Island Condor Volunteers. As Steve said, it was very enjoyable, and they put in a lot of hard work. The flying was great, so good to see all the newbies and young guys. The future belongs to them. A SPECIAL THANK YOU to all the great SPONSORS who donated lots of goodies.
We try to buy from the ones who support us. A good thought to keep in mind.
Las of all, thanks to Steve D. for holding me back when I went after SEG with the rope. I was just going to hang him over a tree and see if he could flap his arms enough to do freestyle...F*#& GOLF..

It is unanimous, this contest was awesome! Man, those kid's can fly. Cody, Todd and Evan were solid the whole weekend. Good scores were not enough to catch them. Good job guys and it was great to hang out with you again.
Thanks to Andy for putting me in the judging chair and not letting me back out of it. I hope to learn more and more about judging as it will only help myself and IMAC as a whole to have a larger stable of competent judges for the chairs.

Thanks to the sponsors as well. I think we just about got through the pilots list twice with the prizes. For those of you who didn't get to try out one of the DW foamies, I can tell you these are amazing. Pedro and Mike really put some time into designing the best foamie I have flown to date.

I WON A FG GRAPHIC SET. Thanks FG's

Once again, for those of you who won something in the pilot raffle, be sure to drop them an e-mail. They are paying attention as this email from Smart-Fly shows.

Hi Steven,
Its great to get feedback from the contestants. Thanks for taking the time.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note and thank you for your support of the IMAC series. I got lucky and won one of your turbo regulators and an equalizer in the pilot raffle. The quality of your products and your support of the sport are greatly appreciated. I run Smart-Fly in all my planes and will continue to do so.

Thanks again!

Tom,
Yeah, I thought you were going to kill that kid, and from the look on his face, he thought so too. You may be old but you are a tough S.O.B. and can put up quite a struggle. I think the sore muscles from trying to out drive Mark Leesberg at the golf range helped save the kid as well. You and I may still be able to hang with those kids, but we pay a big price the next day. See you guys in two weeks in Chula Vista! SEG, I will have a new hat by then, my wife has finally drawn the line and I'll be out getting new shirts, shorts and a hat this week. CHEEEZ, it's flying, not a beauty contest.......

Tony,
When are we going to see you at a contest again? You are missed. As always, that Ryan was amazing. The Compy seems to suit him.

That is a good question, maybe next year. My time is very short this year, I have a lot of family commitments that are keeping me close to home.

I also have to build a new contest plane and practice.

I have been learning to fly 3d this summer. It is something I have always wanted to do but there was always a contest to practice for. I think I am to old for 3D, all the stick movement are to fast.

Tony,
What are you talking about? I am older than you and I'm starting to get the 3D stuff down. It is a blast. If you want to learn 3D buy one of these new foamies from http://www.shop.depronwest.com/splashPage.hg. They are all good, but everyone seems to think the YAK is the best. Mike Morgan and Pedro Brantuas have spent months fine tuning these planes, everyone who has flown one says they are the best they have ever flown. Even those who had previously been dedicated flyers of other foamies. A lot of guys at the Camarrillo IMAC tried them and fell in love. Ryan is bringing one home so maybe he'll let you try it. Good foam is the key to learning to 3D.
